One girl's guide to natural beauty!

I was sitting on the beach with a friend who was bundled up in a towel and big hat. I asked her why she didn't just put on some sunscreen instead of sweating under that towel.

"Sunscreen is thought to cause cancer, Ellie. I'd rather not put that stuff on my body." Whoa. That was news to me! Sunscreen causing cancer? I had to know more!

I started digging deeper into the world of personal care products, skin care routines and cosmetics. What I found was shocking. Not only is there a lack of regulation for beauty and cosmetic products, but there is a wide debate raging as to what certain ingredients in these products actually do to our bodies!

For many of us looking to "go green", buy organic or determine what the word "natural" means, it can be a complicated maze through many products and false advertising. What I'm finding is that often the best way is to go straight back to Mother Earth herself!
